PITA POCKETS WITH SHAMI KEBABS

INGREDIENTS (serves 2)

The Kebabsmith jackfruit, chicken or mutton shami kebabs-8 pices

Pita bread - 2 pieces 

Lettuce leaf-4 pieces, cleaned.

Red pepper, julienned-1/4 cup

Onions, thinly sliced-1/4 cup

 

GARLIC YOGURT DIP

Thick Greek Yogurt- 1/2 measuring cup

Garlic-1 clove, smashed

Dill or mint leaves (optional)- a few leaves finely chopped.

Salt to taste

Roasted cumin powder- 1/2 tsp

 

METHOD

  1. Make the garlic yogurt dip by mixing all the ingredients together and keep aside. 
  2. Cook the Shami kebab and keep it aside. 
  3. Cut each pita into two halves and heat in a pan. Using a knife gently separate the two sides to make into a pocket. 
  4. Using a knife spread some of the sauce inside the pita. Now add some of the onions, lettuce and peppers on one side. 
  5. Carefully place the shami kebabs on top of the vegetables. Sprinkle some sauce on top.
  6. Serve immediately wit some green chutney on the side.
