PITA POCKETS WITH SHAMI KEBABS
INGREDIENTS (serves 2)
The Kebabsmith jackfruit, chicken or mutton shami kebabs-8 pices
Pita bread - 2 pieces
Lettuce leaf-4 pieces, cleaned.
Red pepper, julienned-1/4 cup
Onions, thinly sliced-1/4 cup
GARLIC YOGURT DIP
Thick Greek Yogurt- 1/2 measuring cup
Garlic-1 clove, smashed
Dill or mint leaves (optional)- a few leaves finely chopped.
Salt to taste
Roasted cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
METHOD
- Make the garlic yogurt dip by mixing all the ingredients together and keep aside.
- Cook the Shami kebab and keep it aside.
- Cut each pita into two halves and heat in a pan. Using a knife gently separate the two sides to make into a pocket.
- Using a knife spread some of the sauce inside the pita. Now add some of the onions, lettuce and peppers on one side.
- Carefully place the shami kebabs on top of the vegetables. Sprinkle some sauce on top.
- Serve immediately wit some green chutney on the side.
